Obesity and Weight Loss Top List of UK Health Concerns
The latest web trends report issued by Private Healthcare UK shows that obesity and weight loss are now the greatest concerns in Britain.
According to the statistics, we are more concerned with weight and diet issues than any other health issue.
The annual Private Healthcare UK report, “Healthcare WebWatch 2012” is based on Hitwise data, which is based on internet search trends. The data looks at the search terms used within healthcare, as well as the sites visited and how long users spent on them.
The data showed that 21 of the top 50 health-related searches were concerned with weight, including:
- weight loss
- getting fit
- BMI calculator was actually the 9th most used search term
Losing weight is not as easy as it sounds and with the rising levels of obesity in the UK, it is perhaps positive to see that more people are now aware of the health risks and seeking advice and assistance in whatever form.
If diet, exercise and slimming clubs are not effective, surgical options offer a ‘last resort’ for the obese and severely overweight with the reassurance of clinically proven results.
